Big Brothers Big Sisters Awards Local Couple “Big Defender” Award
TRAVERSE CITY – October 17, 2019….Every year, at their annual Bigs Private Affair Event at The Boathouse Restaurant, Big Brothers Big Sisters (Bigs) chooses an individual or individuals who have had a critical impact on its Mission to receive the prestigious “Big Defender” award. This year the agency’s highest achievement award was given to Mike and Jeanne Ascione, long-time residents and supporters of Bigs.
“Mike and Jeanne have had an extraordinary impact on the lives of children in our program for over eight years by giving them the gift of mentorship and hope for a brighter future,” said Cecilia Chesney, Executive Director.
“They are fierce advocates of our program and for this community. Mike and Jeanne are two of the most generous individuals you will ever meet, whether it’s being instrumental partners in the success of our annual Bigs Wine Event or offering sage advice at a moment’s notice”, she said. “They truly represent how each of us can play a part in inspiring children to reach their full potential.”
