BIG MOMENT: Big Sister Kathy & Little Sister Haven 
Haven is 17 years old and one of six kids. Her mom is a single-parent and came to our program looking for support for Haven and her three older siblings. The family moved to different homes several times and Haven was enrolled in five different elementary schools.
Haven met Kathy when she was 10 years old in the past seven years, they have formed a bond that is truly family. Haven spends a significant amount on Kathy’s farm and even spent time at her home for Christmas.
Even as Haven has grown into her teen years, she and Kathy have never lost touch. Despite changes and busy schedules, they get together consistently to have lunch or just make time to talk. Kathy is ready and willing to guide and support Haven, offering sought after advice, whether it’s related to school, Haven’s future or even boys.
Haven graduated high school this past weekend and is attending Central Michigan University in the fall. She is pursuing a long-term goal of becoming a Speech Pathologist. Haven has no doubt that she and Kathy will be friends for life!
