Bigs Golf Event a BIG Success
TRAVERSE CITY – SEPTEMBER 16, 2019….The 2019 Bigs Golf Event at LochenHeath Golf Club on August 28 & 29 was a resounding success raising nearly $100,000 igniting the potential of 100 children in our community by giving them the gift of mentorship.
“The funds raised at this event will fund volunteer recruitment, background checks and training of volunteers as well as provide support and guidance to Bigs and Littles throughout the life of their matches. The impact for children is greater self-confidence as well as exposure to opportunities they never would have experienced without the support and guidance of a mentor. These wonderful opportunities will carry them on to future success in school and life,” said Cecilia Chesney, Bigs Executive Director. “We are so very grateful to our sponsors, golfers and volunteers for making this such a wonderful event”, she said.
The sold-out event featured a traditional Scramble, a cocktail reception, dinner and a silent/live auction and a competitive golf Invitational where the winners received the ultimate prize of an all-expense paid ultimate golf experience to play The Straits course at Whistling Straits, Kohler, Wisconsin, home of the 2020 Ryder Cup.
A special thank you to our Title Sponsor Elemint Wealth Management, Platinum Sponsor Traverse Area Association of Realtors and Gold Sponsors CH Robinson, AV Flight, The Vine Group and Coldwell Banker Schmidt Realtors.
